Job Summary

As a key member of our management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading our financial operations, including client intake, revenue cycle, expense cycle, treasury functions, and general accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations Management: Direct the activities of six Accounting Department staff, providing leadership, mentoring, and training within the department.
  • Internal Controls: Implement and maintain required internal financial and operational controls.
  • Financial Reporting: Maintain books and records using the income tax basis of accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Monthly Close Process: Ensure the monthly close process is completed accurately and within the monthly close cycle.
  • Account Reconciliations: Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
  • Member Draw Schedules: Prepare and maintain Member draw schedules, distribution worksheets, and review Member compensation.
  • Compliance Reviews: Oversee firm's compliance reviews, attestation, and specific-purpose audits by financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and clients.
  • Trust and Escrow Account Management: Manage the firm's trust and escrow account activities.
  • Banking and Financial Institution Relationships: Optimize the handling of firm banking and financial institution relationships.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships: Build strong, cross-functional relationships to support the firm's operational needs.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA required, MBA preferred.
  • Experience: Law firm experience required, minimum of eight years accounting operations management experience.
  • Skills: Proven ability to enhance strategic firm relationships, including relationships with clients, service providers, partners, and employees. High level of leadership, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Additional Requirements: Willingness to be hands-on in certain day-to-day accounting operations, contribute to the firm's ongoing process automation and improvement initiatives.
