Job Overview

Position Summary

The Child Support Services Coordinator plays a vital role in the initiation and management of child support cases. This position involves the location, intake, establishment, enforcement, and interstate actions necessary for the determination of paternity, the creation of support orders, and the collection of both current and overdue child support payments. The coordinator ensures compliance with all relevant State, Federal, and contractual timelines related to the establishment and enforcement of child support orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluates cases in line with state and federal regulations, including locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity, and enforcing support orders while adhering to established time frames.
  • Gathers and processes essential information for establishing paternity and support orders, as well as enforcing and reviewing these orders, which includes reaching out to custodial and non-custodial parents for consent.
  • Conducts interviews with both custodial and non-custodial parents to assess service needs and identify legal matters.
  • Utilizes system data and online resources to gather pertinent case information effectively.
  • Prepares necessary legal and administrative documentation for review by legal staff and supervisors.
  • Monitors cases for payment delinquencies and necessary modifications, taking appropriate enforcement actions as needed.
  • Calculates child support amounts in accordance with established guidelines and regulations.
  • Determines child support arrears and other financial adjustments accurately.
  • Ensures child support payments are processed in compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Responds professionally to inquiries and assists walk-in customers, providing case status information as required.
  • Maintains accurate records in both automated and physical case files regarding the establishment and enforcement of child support obligations.
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of all case-related information.
  • Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Educational Requirements

An Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required.

Experience Requirements

Preferred experience in child support enforcement or collections, with a familiarity of office environments and automated systems.

Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; capability to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously; and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently.
