Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sales Representative to join our team as an Outside Parts Sales Representative. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing parts sales with existing accounts and prospecting for new accounts in assigned territories.

  • Regularly visit assigned customers and proactively pursue new opportunities;
  • Communicate parts orders and delivery instructions to counter staff;
  • Stay up-to-date on new products, competition, and pricing trends;
  • Develop relationships with New and Used Truck prospects and Service leadership;
  • Promote the sale of parts and accessories, providing expert advice to wholesale or retail customers;
  • In conjunction with the Credit Manager, establish payment methods for wholesale parts and obtain credit approvals when necessary;
  • Follow up on customer requirements and orders to ensure satisfaction;
  • Process warranty claims and complete necessary paperwork;
  • Review special orders and pricing with the Parts Sales Manager for approval;
  • Deliver orders and collect returns from customers;
  • Manage reports and paperwork efficiently (budgets, travel, call reports, expense reports, etc.).
Requirements
  • A high-school diploma or equivalent;
  • Experience in the heavy truck and commercial motor vehicle industry;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • The ability to follow up with external customers and internal departments effectively;
  • The capacity to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and achieve agreed-upon outcomes;
  • The ability to use creativity to solve problems and meet customer needs within company guidelines;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Proven time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of inside or outside sales experience with a proven ability to reach, maintain, and exceed sales goals/quotas;
  • General business courses or sales training.
Work Environment

This position requires frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
