Key Responsibilities:

• Provides skilled occupational therapy services, adhering to physician orders and patient needs

• Conducts thorough client evaluations, develops and implements personalized plans of care, and reevaluates as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to plan and evaluate patient goals, ensuring comprehensive care and effective communication

• Educates patients, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy programs, promoting independence and self-advocacy

• Advises and consults with healthcare professionals on occupational therapy modalities, enhancing patient care and outcomes

• Observes and reports patient progress, identifying areas for improvement and adjusting care plans accordingly

• Refers patients to other disciplines as needed, ensuring comprehensive care and coordination

• Teaches new skills and retrains clients in daily activities, promoting independence and functional ability

• Establishes equipment needs to facilitate independent living, ensuring patients have the necessary tools for optimal function

• Instructs patients and caregivers on adaptive equipment use, ensuring safe and effective implementation

• Performs work capacity evaluations and refers patients to specialized vocational training as needed

• Participates in peer consultation and supervision, ensuring high-quality patient care and professional development

• Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards, maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity

Requirements:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of practice

• Graduate of an accredited school or program of Occupational Therapy

• One year of prior professional Occupational Therapy experience preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable

• Current CPR certification if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

• Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

• Understands patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

• Strong communication skills, proficiency in English, and computer proficiency required

• Must be at least 18 years of age
