Job Summary

The Patient Care Coordinator is a vital member of our team at Skin Wellness Physicians, responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth experience for our patients. This role requires a cheerful, friendly, and professional individual who can effectively communicate with patients, staff, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients in a polite and prompt manner, providing necessary instructions and directions.
  • Update patient information, obtain necessary signatures, and create new patient charts as instructed.
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and maintain clean, orderly waiting areas and front office spaces.
  • Answer phone calls according to protocol and professionally assist doctors, staff, visitors, and patients.
  • Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all providers, staff, and patient information.
  • Schedule appointments between providers and patients, and liaise between other departments with discretion and professionalism.
  • Adhere to SWP policy and procedures during all activities and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintain medical records, HIPAA documentation, and enter patient data into the EMR databases and appointments into scheduling systems.
  • Review and maintain all schedules as needed, and ensure all scheduled appointment needs are appropriately prepared and accurate records are present and/or obtained as needed and assigned.
  • Inform patients of the office's payment policy and procedures, collect patient payments in accordance with the time-of-service payment policy, and adhere to scheduled work and break hours to ensure adequate front desk coverage.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by ensuring the collection of all necessary documentation for treatment and accurately collecting and applying payments of services and products.
  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of patient arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff, checking patients in and out for their appointments.
  • Keep office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs and monitoring front office equipment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be a team player, respectful of your co-workers, and able to maintain confidentiality of all providers, staff, and patient information. You must also be knowledgeable of all office financial policies and scheduling rules for each provider.
