Job Summary:

The Behavioral Medicine Coordinator (i) teaches and enhances resident interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills used with patients and their families; (ii) teaches residents to assess and treat patient psychiatric and substance disorders and psychosocial problems (behavioral, psychological, emotional, and interpersonal); (iii) provides support to residents and fosters resident personal and professional growth; and (iv) serves a range of administrative functions for the Residency program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance resident skills in patient communication and counseling.
  • Assess and treat patient psychiatric and substance disorders, as well as psychosocial problems.
  • Provide support and guidance to residents, promoting personal and professional growth.
  • Manage administrative tasks and functions for the Residency program.
