Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and enhance existing OpenStack HPC cloud platforms to meet the current and future needs of our organization.
  • Develop technology solutions that meet the current and future needs of our organization.
  • Design customized OpenStack architectures tailored to our workload in collaboration with compute, network, and storage vendors.
  • Assist with certification processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Work alongside global network architects to design networks to support our OpenStack Platform.
  • Ensure optimal deployment of production solutions.
  • Function as a high-level expert who can deal with escalated Cloud hardware & software issues.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst our operations teams.
  • Design and perform benchmarks to evaluate products, solutions, and vendors.
  • Support procurement of system components by evaluating technologies/sources, preparing specifications, and evaluating proposals.
  • Document all OpenStack architecture components, configurations, and changes in the Enterprise Architecture tool.
  • Maintain and update the Enterprise Architecture tool to reflect changes in the OpenStack infrastructure.
  • Work closely with IT leadership to develop and maintain OpenStack architecture standards, documentation, and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in architecting and deploying OpenStack Platforms.
  • A background in High-performance Computing.
  • Extensive expertise in compute, networking, and storage, in both hardware (CPUs, accelerators, interconnects, storage, etc.) and software (Linux components, HPC tools, and parallel file systems).
  • Extensive experience with Linux.
  • Proficient automation skills with multiple configuration management systems such as Terraform, Ansible, or other similar tools.
  • Experience with git and git workflows.
  • Proficient skills in leveraging CI and CD tools to automate testing and deployment.
  • Experience with Ceph Object storage.
  • Experience with Compliance Certifications like ISO or SOC2.
  • Proven experience in fixing operational issues for large-scale infrastructures.
  • Experience using and adapting to new technologies.
  • Experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
