Key Responsibilities:
As a Metal Finishing Specialist, your primary duties will include:

  • Utilizing pneumatic hand grinders to eliminate surface imperfections from titanium castings, ensuring precise dimensions.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of your work using various measuring instruments to guarantee compliance with specifications.
  • Operating belt grinding machines to effectively surface grind and blend welds on castings.
  • Measuring parts and visually inspecting castings for defects, marking them appropriately.
  • Collaborating with the dimensional department to work with casting fixtures.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation associated with castings throughout the finishing process.
  • Ensuring a clean and safe workstation environment.
  • Assisting in the training of junior Finisher personnel.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Proficiency in interpreting dimensional tools such as ultrasonic testing devices, calipers, and gauges.
  • The ability to follow detailed written instructions, including technical cards and blueprints.
  • A strong attention to detail, requiring continuous mental and visual focus.
  • A reliable attendance record and the ability to meet both quality and quantity production standards.
  • Team-oriented mindset with self-motivation.
  • Capability to understand and execute verbal instructions from supervisors.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and participate in drug screening.

Work Environment:
This position is conducted in a setting with generally favorable working conditions, although there may be exposure to noise and machinery.

Schedule:
This role operates on a swing shift schedule, providing a competitive shift differential.
