Safety Specialist Job Description

About the Role
Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is seeking a skilled Safety Specialist to support the company's zero-injury safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, with experience in conducting tests and inspections, developing safety programs, and providing training to employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and supervise occupational health and safety programs and processes.
  • Conduct safety training on a wide variety of topics, including OSHA regulations and plant standards.
  • Evaluate the impact of emerging issues, regulations, and legislation on company operations.
  • Develop corrective action plans to respond to internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections and training, and ensure the availability of safety equipment and devices.
  • Investigate injuries and incidents using root cause analysis methods, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to improve overall training and competency processes.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in occupational safety and/or industrial hygiene, with a strong background in risk assessments, safety program development, and audit management.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of OSHA regulations and plant standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees and agency representatives at all levels.
