Associate Dean for Academic Excellence

The North Carolina A&T State University Honors College seeks a highly qualified Associate Dean for Academics to join its leadership team. This is a key position that will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic direction of the College and advancing its mission.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with university administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure the highest standards of excellence in academic offerings, advising, and undergraduate research opportunities.
- Oversee the Honors curriculum, including Honors-specific course offerings, and lead specialized academic advising.
- Work closely with the NC A&T Undergraduate Research Office to expand research opportunities for Honors students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of academic programs and student services that meet the needs of Honors students.
- Represent the College in various capacities, including serving on college committees and supporting enrollment management initiatives.
- Terminal degree in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academia.
- Strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Previous experience in overseeing academic advising and undergraduate research programs is desirable.
- Academic rank of associate or full professor preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in undergraduate education at the level of an assistant/associate dean, learning community director, or academic advisor.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations pertaining to management of student records and the maintenance of student rights, privacy, and safety.
