Associate Dean of Research and Innovation

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Research and Innovation. This is a key leadership role that will play a critical part in shaping the research agenda of the College of Health and Human Sciences.
Job Summary:The Associate Dean of Research and Innovation will be responsible for developing and implementing the vision, plan, and policies to guide the college's research goals and outcomes. This includes leading all aspects of the college's research infrastructure and operations, working closely with faculty, department chairs, and staff to foster a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the research vision and strategy for the college
- Lead the development and implementation of research policies and procedures
- Provide leadership and oversight for the research committee
- Mentor faculty on research career issues
- Assist faculty with overseeing their research budgets and programs
- Evaluate research center opportunities
- Evaluate and approve indirect cost waivers
- Evaluate grant cost-sharing opportunities and present the evaluation to the dean
- Foster collaborative, interdisciplinary research between departments and between the school of nursing and other academic units at NC A&T
- Work with the Division of Research and Economic Development (DORED) on all aspects of research administration, including compliance and financial issues
- Doctorate with five (5) years of experience in funded research
- Experience with managing large research programs, externally funded research, and administrative leadership experience in a research environment
- Demonstrated success as an administrator and fiscal manager, a record of success in procuring and managing sponsored research programs, and experience in research policy formation, compliance, and operation
- Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external constituencies, promote interdisciplinary research, and work with a culturally diverse population
- Ability to develop the college's research infrastructure, including a focus on faculty research training
