As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping the vision for our research and scholarly activities, ensuring their success in achieving research goals, and overseeing grant oversight, submissions, and implementation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the research mission and strategic planning for the School of Nursing
- Oversee grant submissions, approvals, and implementation, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, UNC and UNCG guidelines, and funding source requirements
- Mentor faculty members in research programs and trajectories, providing guidance on research goals, budget development, and personnel management
- Collaborate with department chairs, the Dean, and other administrators to develop research goals, budgets, and policies
- Represent the School of Nursing at internal and external forums, committees, and meetings, promoting research and scholarly activities
- Doctorate in nursing or related discipline
- 5-7 years of experience conducting research in the nursing discipline, with a preference for experience in an academic health science setting
- Full-time senior faculty rank (Associate Professor or Professor), tenured
- Expertise in research methods and grant management
- Administrative experience at a senior level
- 7-10 years of experience conducting research in the nursing discipline, with a preference for experience in an academic health science setting
- A degree in nursing if PhD is in a related field
- Significant experience in mentoring junior faculty and students in research
- NIH or equivalent funding
