Position Overview:

The Senior Cloud Platform Engineer is a pivotal role designed for a seasoned engineer who will lead the HPE HPC System Management platform team. This team is tasked with the development of new functionalities, maintenance, upgrades, security enhancements, performance optimization, reliability, and scalability of an existing cloud-based (Kubernetes) deployment along with all associated platform components that support system management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the design and architecture of the next generation of cloud-based HPC System Management platforms.
  • Oversee the implementation of innovative designs and ensure adherence to best practices in software development.
  • Utilize deep expertise in cloud technologies, container security, and microservices architecture to enhance system performance.
  • Engage in continuous operation of highly secure and reliable software systems.
  • Lead and mentor a geographically dispersed team, fostering a collaborative environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and mentoring.
  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, containers, and microservices in production settings.
  • Strong background in deploying and managing services across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OpenStack.
  • Experience in designing and implementing secure APIs within a microservices architecture.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and integrate third-party cloud technologies into Kubernetes-based systems.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python or Go, with practical experience in Linux/Unix system administration.

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Typically, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills:

Familiarity with Cloud Architectures, DevOps practices, Distributed Computing, and Microservices is highly desirable. A security-first mindset and a commitment to user experience are essential.
