Position Summary:

The Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Accounting and Business Law. This role is set to commence in the upcoming academic year.

The appointment will initially be for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on teaching requirements. Candidates should possess substantial teaching experience in accounting within a higher education environment, along with significant professional expertise in the field.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate a capacity for publishing scholarly research in accounting to uphold their AACSB Scholarly Active status. Evidence of professional leadership and recognition, such as active participation in industry associations or notable presentations, is highly valued.



Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will:

  • Teach a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, guided by experienced faculty members.
  • Engage in academic research aimed at publication in reputable accounting journals to maintain AACSB Scholarly Active designation.
  • Participate in faculty discussions to enhance and sustain a relevant curriculum for accounting programs.
  • Foster connections with the local business community to support internship and mentoring initiatives through Loyola's accounting programs.


Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a Doctorate in Business Administration, possess leadership experience in the business sector, and have prior teaching experience. A proven track record of recent research activities, evidenced by academic publications or advanced working papers, is essential. Candidates should exhibit teaching effectiveness and a strong commitment to the university's mission, with particular interest in those who can advance the University's goals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
