Healthcare Safety Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Safety Specialist to join our team at Amergis.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering first aid to injured or ill employees, analyzing tasks for potential safety issues, and participating in the workers' compensation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide triage, first aid, and/or referral to outside medical providers as needed.
- Maintain all records of care given to employees.
- Maintain first-aid kits, inventory supplies, restock, and clean equipment used in the care of employees.
- Contact outside medical providers as needed to schedule appointments and arrange further treatment.
- Train employee volunteers in First Aid, CPR, AED, Blood Borne Pathogen training.
- Provide daily end-of-shift reports to the Safety and Leadership team.
- Participate in weekly Site Case Management Review meetings with HR, Risk Management, and Safety.
- Analyze incidents on a monthly basis and make recommendations for risk reductions on workplace injuries.
- Participate in incident investigations as needed.
- Develop return-to-work physical demands assessments for each task.
- Participate in facilitation of random drug testing.
- Frequent floor time is required to better understand the needs of operations.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have 1+ years of experience as a full-time EMT responding to emergency calls.
You should hold current and valid EMT Certification from the Department of Health for the state you are practicing in.
A Current BLS card and ACLS/PALS certification per contract requirement are also necessary.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a High School Diploma or GED equivalent are required.
You must also meet all of Amergis' pre-employment screening requirements.
About the Salary:
The estimated salary for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
