Lead Veterinarian Job Description

The Lead Veterinarian serves as the medical leader of the practice, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that results in an excellent treatment experience for patients and clients, as well as an excellent employment experience for the practice's patient care team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to the veterinary team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to medical standards.
  • Support the development of staff members through the company's LevelUp clinical training program.
  • Promote exceptional client experience and the human-animal bond.
  • Manage multiple patients and priorities within allotted timeframes.
  • Oversee the medical care of all patients and serve as the veterinarian of record for hospital permits and licenses.
  • Partner with the Practice Manager to set medical standards and supervise communication with clients.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Medical Director to establish medical guidelines and support medical training of support staff.
Requirements:
  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program.
  • Active license in good standing to practice in the state of employment or the ability to obtain a license.
