Emergency Department Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse (RN) Resident in our Emergency Department, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and making a difference in the lives of our patients.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate RN Resident to join our team. As a RN Resident, you will participate in a year-long residency program that is customized to fit your needs and pace. You will provide direct nursing care, be paired with a coach that guides you toward success, develop clinical judgment, cultivate excellent communication skills, and acquire complex nursing skills.
Responsibilities- Participate in a residency core curriculum based on your individual learning needs.
- Provide direct nursing care, alongside a coach, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care activities based on the following: acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.
- Initiate and/or maintain interventions to assure continuity of safe/effective care for patients.
- Respond to data indicating risk to individual's health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent the risk.
- Seek supervision, consultation, assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Comply with established hospital/department personnel policies.
- Use communication strategies in order to achieve desirable outcomes.
- Document in patient's medical record according to established guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- BSN preferred.
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN).
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) must be presented upon hire.
- If in a Critical Care area, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment.
