Key Responsibilities

Your primary role will involve providing safe and courteous transportation services while supporting the Engage Life Director or Maintenance Director. You will also oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal performance.

  • Transport residents to various destinations according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Assist residents in safely entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Secure wheelchairs to ensure stability during transport.
  • Adhere to safe driving practices at all times.
  • Maintain the vehicle by refueling and reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Implement and monitor vehicle inspection and maintenance programs, keeping accurate records.
  • Deliver groceries and personal items to residents' apartments.
  • Support the Engage Life Department with activities and programs as necessary.
  • Submit daily travel expense reports to the business office.
  • Maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company policies.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide basic First Aid as needed.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of five years of driving experience with knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • A valid commercial driver's license is required for operating larger vehicles.
  • Ability to operate passenger buses and other vehicles as required.
  • Experience with emergency vehicle repairs and basic maintenance.
  • Familiarity with local streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
  • Driving responsibilities may include the use of company or personal vehicles.
  • Must comply with Atria's Motor Vehicle Record Policy.
