Position Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

Position Overview:
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Archbold Medical Center, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices and the ability to lead and mentor nursing staff.

Educational Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid nursing license issued by the appropriate regulatory body.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Professional Experience:
- Previous nursing experience is preferred, particularly in long-term care settings.

Essential Competencies:
- Employ a holistic approach to patient care.
- Exhibit outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in fundamental nursing skills and adaptability to new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Make independent clinical decisions when necessary and interact tactfully with patients, families, and other stakeholders.
- Stay informed about the regulations and guidelines relevant to long-term care.
- Exhibit leadership qualities and oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs.
- Maintain a positive and patient-centered attitude, especially when dealing with challenging situations.

Physical Requirements:
- Maintain good physical and mental health.
- Ability to lift, bend, pull, and push without restrictions, utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Visual acuity to assess patient conditions and auditory skills to communicate effectively.
- Capability to wear respiratory protective equipment as required.
- Ability to work under supervision or independently based on situational demands.
- Capacity to perform under pressure.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversee the care provided to a designated group of patients and manage nursing personnel assigned to the team.

Reporting Structure:
- Reports to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Charge Nurse.

Performance Expectations:
- Uphold a professional demeanor and contribute to a clean, safe, and secure environment.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer service and teamwork.

Core Competencies for Long-Term Care:
- Ability to function effectively as a Charge Nurse when designated.
- Manage medication carts and related equipment as assigned.
- Uphold resident rights and confidentiality.
- Participate in facility evaluations and surveys.
- Exhibit strong clinical skills and apply the nursing process in care planning.
- Ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Stay current with required certifications and licensure.
- Effectively supervise nursing staff.
