Job Overview

This position is designed for a skilled professional working across various locations within the Synergy Health Partners network. This full-time role aims to enhance and support the practice of an employed physician, offering a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary along with an incentive program based on the supervising physician's practice volume.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outpatient consultations, gathering health histories, performing physical assessments, and adhering to established protocols to identify patient care needs, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on their health conditions and any necessary health restrictions.
  • Review laboratory results and diagnostic studies to coordinate care plans, making referrals to specialists and healthcare agencies as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding health management and maintenance based on individual conditions.
  • Manage patient discharges, ensuring appropriate follow-up care and education.
  • Perform inpatient care management, including rounds on hospitalized patients and documenting relevant medical care plans.
  • Oversee routine medical management of inpatient care, including ordering diagnostic tests, medications, and nutritional support.
  • Execute bedside procedures as required.
  • Respond professionally and independently to any emergent changes in patient conditions, adhering to best practices.
  • Document all evaluations, care, and services in the medical records accurately.
  • Handle patient communications through various channels, providing appropriate medical advice or referrals.
  • Facilitate consultations within the clinic setting as necessary.
  • Assist in surgical procedures, including exposure, dissection, and closure of wounds, as well as harvesting graft materials.
  • Engage with attending or supervising physicians regarding any unexpected events or issues requiring consultation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the practice.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Physician Assistant License
  • NCCPA Certification
  • Credentialing by the Medical Staff within 90 days of hire
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work under physician supervision while also practicing independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in private medical practice
  • Background in spine care
  • Surgical experience
  • Demonstrated managerial experience or progressive responsibilities
  • Ability to establish a warm rapport with patients
