The Walsh Group is currently in search of a Project Accountant to support our Transportation division.

The Project Accountant is responsible for overseeing the daily financial operations of multiple projects, typically ranging from 5 to 15 simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process subcontracts, change orders, and bonds to ensure compliance with specified terms.
  • Collect and verify project subcontractor/supplier lien waivers.
  • Gather, assess, and process monthly project invoices from subcontractors/suppliers, ensuring accurate accruals to the appropriate cost reports and phase codes.
  • Facilitate timely payments to all subcontractors and major suppliers.
  • Understand the monthly profit and loss process, ensuring prompt submission and accuracy of project P&Ls.
  • Process cost transfers on project cost reports for project management personnel.
  • Assist project management in preparing monthly billings to project owners.
  • Collect, review, and submit monthly owner billings for processing.
  • Maintain communication with project teams regarding payment tracking.
  • Manage all client and subcontractor communications professionally and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field.
  • No prior experience in construction accounting is necessary.
