Job Title: Utility Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Utility Technician to join our team at Fuyao Glass America. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of plant water supply and fire sprinkler facilities, as well as assisting the Utilities Maintenance Manager in other tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the company's compressed air, gas equipment operates normally.
  • Daily check the air supply facilities and maintain records.
  • Responsible for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of gas supply facilities, and maintain records.
  • Responsible for analyzing sudden/emergency failures, and proposing solutions.
  • Responsible for monthly maintenance plans and PM plans, and implementing them according to the operation of the gas supply system and spot checking inspection.
  • Responsible for preparing spare parts for gas supply equipment and spare parts reserve plans, and updating them monthly.
  • Responsible for the installation, debugging, acceptance, and training of new equipment and air hoses.
  • Responsible for monitoring gas charges, real-time monitoring the gas use of the factory, and calculating the cost of gas.
  • Responsible for technical improvement of gas supply facilities.
  • Responsible for managing special equipment and pressure vessels.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing central air conditioning systems and chilled water systems and spare parts.
  • Responsible for each gas station and spare parts 5S management.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing the company's logistics doors and access control systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing the company pager system.
Requirements:
  • Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin.
  • Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership, and customers.
  • Over three years of manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Licensed welder is required.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Working Conditions:

The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip).

Visual acuity including, but not limited to:

  • NEAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
  • FAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more.
  • DEPTH PERCEPTION - Three-dimensional vision.
  • FIELD OF VISION - Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed work boots.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS - Knowledge of and familiarity with manufacturing software.

Can accept overtime during weekend and emergency fixing after work.

Own the ability to connect PVC pipe/carbon steel pipe/galvanized pipe.

Be able to operate lifts and forklifts.

Familiar with office software WORD, EXCEL, CAD.

Familiar with electric and mechanical knowledge.

Design/installation of utilities in the factory.

Training regarding machinery, electrics, equipment management, HVAC, and safety training.

Must be 18 years of age or older.
