Salary: £27,334 to £29,777 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full time – 37 hours per week
As a Housing Support Specialist for Care Leavers, your primary responsibility will be to engage with young individuals who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness, assisting them in exploring available options. You will provide comprehensive support to help them prioritize their housing needs and ensure they are well-informed about their housing choices and the most suitable pathways to secure stable accommodation.
The assistance you offer will be practical in nature, potentially involving participation in meetings, budgeting guidance, and equipping them with the skills necessary to maintain a tenancy and overcome challenges related to homelessness.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with Personal Advisors and various external organizations, including housing providers, substance misuse services, adult social care, mental health professionals, and probation services, to tackle the issues that elevate the risk of homelessness among care leavers.
While this role can be immensely fulfilling, it may also present emotional challenges, particularly when working with vulnerable young individuals who may have complex needs. You may encounter challenging behaviors from the young people accessing our services.
