Required Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in asset management, particularly with operational technology assets in the energy and utilities sector. Role Overview:

The Operational Technology Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of operational technology assets within the energy and utilities sector. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of assets through the ServiceNow platform.

Individuals in this position will tackle complex challenges, manage workflows, and provide leadership with minimal oversight. The role involves guiding others and requires advanced skills along with the ability to work autonomously. The specialist will deliver analytical support to Product Owners or Product Managers engaged in the product lifecycle from discovery to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and sustain the operational technology asset management process within ServiceNow, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices. Offer subject matter expertise on network diagrams and device communications between operational technology and information technology environments. Oversee the complete lifecycle of operational technology assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring precise tracking and reporting. Collaborate with IT, operational technology, and cybersecurity teams to guarantee the security and compliance of operational technology assets. Lead initiatives for continuous improvement to enhance asset management processes. Provide training and support to users regarding operational technology asset management practices. Monitor performance metrics and key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of the asset management process. Assist the product owner with user research and story development. Lead various key activities within a product team, including process mapping, value stream mapping, and performance standards development. Develop and implement quality assurance plans. Support change management efforts to ensure successful product implementation. Collaborate with the product team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and potential cost-saving measures. Utilize data to assist teams in developing and implementing solutions. Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, information technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree: 12+ years without a degree or 8+ years with a degree in a relevant field.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, specifically with operational technology assets in the energy and utilities sector. Experience managing the lifecycle of operational technology assets such as SCADA systems and smart grid technologies. Knowledge of operational technology networks and device communication (e.g., Emerson, SEL, GE, Allen Bradley, Cisco, Siemens). Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance requirements pertinent to the energy and utilities sector. Strong grasp of operational technology technologies and their applications in the energy and utilities industry. Proficiency in system integrations and managing asset data within centralized repositories. Ability to integrate ServiceNow with other systems used for monitoring and managing operational technology assets. Knowledge of IT and operational technology security principles as they relate to asset management. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying information effectively across various platforms. Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities. A curious mindset, always seeking to learn and improve with a proactive approach. Strong collaborative skills to drive change through influence.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five or more years of experience in the utility industry. ServiceNow System Administrator Certification. ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Asset Management. Cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP or CISM, if relevant to the role. Ability to identify and quantify opportunities with limited existing data. Experience in writing business cases. Experience in creating and maintaining visual representations of data tracking activities and outcomes.
