Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Counselor Workers Compensation Specialist to join our team at AmTrust Financial Services. As a Staff Counsel III, you will be responsible for managing a case load from inception to resolution, handling pre-trial discovery, drafting pleadings, and presenting defense strategies in court.

This role is ideal for a licensed attorney with strong legal research and writing skills, experience with supervision and development of more junior attorneys, and 11+ years' relevant practice group litigation experience.

The estimated salary for this position is $145,000 - $170,000 per year, based on the title, job description, and location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Insured before the assigned Court and present witnesses and evidence on litigated claims.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, and develop and present defense strategies on behalf of the Employer/Carrier.
  • Prepare pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs in support of defense strategies.
  • Handle all activities related to full trial and/or appeals, as assigned.
