About the Role

Bloomfield West is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in Orange County. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Daily Routines: Create and implement daily routines for clients, as outlined in their Individual Program Plan, to promote their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Provide Personal Care: Assist clients with bathroom needs, change undergarments and clothing as needed, and provide support with daily living activities.
  • Prepare Meals and Clean-Up: Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Support Daily Living and Vocational Activities: Support clients with daily living and vocational activities, such as household chores, meal preparation, and leisure activities.
  • Transportation: Pick-up and drop-off clients in company vans from/to their home/facility, as needed.
  • Assessment and Planning: Participate in client assessment, planning, and evaluation processes to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  • Documentation and Communication: Input all client notes into computer programs, review IPP goals, and communicate with supervisors as needed.
  • Continuing Education and Training: Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities, preferred.
  • Age and Education: Must be at least 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid California Driver's License.
  • Background Check: Must successfully pass a background check, including but not limited to a fingerprint check.
  • Certifications: Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2, preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
  • First Aid/CPR: Must have First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in all weather conditions.
