Job Title: Engineer (EIT) - TransportationJob Summary

At Houston Engineering, Inc., we are seeking a talented and motivated Engineer (EIT) - Transportation to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will work on designing and building transportation systems that improve the lives of thousands of people in your community, county, and state.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior-level engineers to work on various transportation projects, including traffic planning, roadway and railway design, geometric layout, drainage analysis, erosion control, and environmental clearance coordination.
  • Perform redlines on project drawings, pull technical reports, and complete quantity calculations and assist with project cost estimates.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, including CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors, to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
  • May include onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related Engineering degree.
  • 0-3 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects preferred.
  • Experience operating MicroStation, Geopak, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
