Education & Engagement Director

SOME (So Others Might Eat) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing essential services to vulnerable individuals and families in the District of Columbia. We are seeking an experienced Education & Engagement Director to lead our education-related initiatives and support the development of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement education programs and services that meet the needs of our clients, including parents and children.
  • Collaborate with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Provide training and support to staff and residents on education-related topics, including special education laws and regulations.
  • Conduct educational and vocational assessments to identify needs and develop individualized plans.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and interests, ensuring they receive the support and services they need to succeed.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in education, with a focus on special education and working with grades K-12.
  • Experience working in the DC Public School system or Charter school system.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations related to special education, including IDEA and McKinney-Vento.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $86,507.00 to $101,649.00, commensurate with experience.
