Job Overview:

The Senior Software Developer (Back-End Application/API/Data Developer) plays a vital role in crafting robust and efficient server-side web applications, APIs, and data environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain server-side web application logic.
  • Enhance data processing and retrieval mechanisms.
  • Develop and manage APIs and web services for front-end and mobile applications.
  • Integrate UI/API/micro-services with backend data warehouses, Data Marts, and business intelligence systems.
  • Ensure data consistency and synchronization across various departments.
  • Create, develop, and sustain scalable and secure APIs.
  • Document API functionalities and usage protocols.
  • Collaborate with enterprise database management systems for effective data storage, retrieval, and analysis.
  • Guarantee data integrity, security, and optimal performance.
  • Work alongside front-end and mobile developers, as well as other stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor and enhance application performance.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and automated testing procedures.
  • Engage in code review processes.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance for back-end applications and APIs.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues promptly.

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Back-end developer in a Google Cloud environment utilizing technologies such as Big Query, DataStream, DBT, Looker, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Kubernetes, and Cloud Storage.
  • Thorough understanding of the web development lifecycle integrated with backend database management systems.
  • Expertise in implementing Datawarehouse, Datamart, and Business Intelligence systems adhering to academic standards of Boyce-Codd/Inmon for normalization and Kimball for denormalization.
  • Familiarity with security standards and governance compliance (e.g., GDPR, PII, HIPAA, SOX) and implementing Row-level and column-level security measures.
  • Proficiency in constructing autonomous, self-healing, resilient, high-performance, scalable, and adaptable systems.
  • Experience with Master Data Management techniques and technologies at scale.
  • Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Java, Ruby, PHP, and Python.
  • Working knowledge of CMS frameworks and familiarity with front-end languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, CSS).
  • Strong analytical and multitasking abilities.

Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory):

  • Experience handling highly regulated data, particularly PII, CWS, Health Data (HIPAA), and Legal and Court Data.
