Job Overview:

The Client Account Specialist is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of designated client accounts, focusing on managing accounts receivable to secure payment for overdue balances, generating client reports, preparing patient statements, and engaging in direct communication with clients.


Supervisory Duties:
None

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensures adherence to established processes, regulations, legal standards, ethical guidelines, compliance protocols, and contractual agreements related to billing by staying informed about requirements and workflows.

2. Aids in identifying potential risk areas and mitigating instances of abuse and fraud.
3. Upholds confidentiality standards.
4. Collaborates effectively with colleagues.
5. Organizes tasks, prioritizes effectively to meet deadlines, and adapts as necessary.
6. Manages accounts receivable balances and communicates with third-party payers to ascertain reasons for claim non-payment.
7. Rectifies errors and resubmits claims to facilitate payment.
8. Drafts appeals for denied claims.
9. Conducts timely follow-ups until claims are settled or no further action is warranted.
10. Applies appropriate adjustments to outstanding claim balances.
11. Assists in determining which accounts should be forwarded to collections.
12. Prepares documentation for patient refund requests.
13. Completes assigned responsibilities promptly.
14. Updates patient demographic information as required.
15. Acts as a liaison between clients and third-party payers.
16. Maintains detailed and accurate notes for all actions taken on claims/accounts.
17. Generates client reports according to specified requirements.
18. Prepares patient statements.

Educational and Experience Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience

Skill Qualifications:
• Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations and policies regarding documentation, coding, and billing for services.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

Physical Requirements:
• Extended periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer.
