Substance Abuse Counselor

Aware Recovery Care is seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team in Worcester, MA. As a key member of our multidisciplinary Addiction Care team, you will work closely with clients to provide personalized support and guidance throughout their recovery journey.
Responsibilities- Deliver our 52-week In-Home Addiction Treatment (IHAT) program to clients in their home environment.
- Collaborate with the Addiction Treatment team to coordinate customized client care.
- Manage a caseload of clients and schedule appointments.
- Offer support through face-to-face appointments and telephonically as needed.
- Submit timely clinical documentation in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Meet clients where they are and work across departments for holistic client support.
- Participate in Case Review, supervision, and continuing education.
- Mentor and shadow new employees.
- 2 years of lived continuous recovery experience from any Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and/or personal experience with addiction in family members or loved ones preferred.
- Certifications such as Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC), Drug and Alcohol Recovery Counselor (DARC), or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) are a plus.
- Proof of auto insurance is required.
- HS diploma or GED required.
- Competitive hourly rate of $20-$24 based on experience, education, and qualifications.
- Full-time position with evenings until 6 p.m. and some weekend availability may be required.
