Position Overview:
The Veterinary Scientific Services Specialist (VSSS) is responsible for fostering brand loyalty by collaborating with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and specialized veterinary clinics within the designated region.

Territory:
South Central U.S. (Dallas, TX)
Willingness to travel by car or air is essential to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. The coverage area may be adjusted based on business requirements.
Travel requirements may reach up to 75%, including evenings and weekends, with the ability to work effectively from a remote location.

Role Objectives:


The VSSS plays a crucial role in enhancing the Royal Canin Veterinary Diet brand by engaging with KOLs and providing educational support to the field sales team. This position is vital in cultivating knowledgeable and persuasive Royal Canin representatives who can effectively communicate our product offerings in a competitive market.

The VSSS will implement training and educational initiatives to achieve the strategic goals of the veterinary division.

Collaboration with the internal sales team is key to promoting brand advocacy, nutritional guidance, and subscription services within veterinary practices.

The VSSS is an essential member of our customer-focused sales support team.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (active license in at least one state)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in veterinary practice, including internships, co-ops, or residency
Strong scientific communication and presentation abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote)
Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Willingness to travel up to 75% within the assigned territory (eligible for company vehicle)
Ability to arrange travel independently, including overnight trips and weekends

Desirable Skills:
Proficient use of social media platforms for professional communication (within the guidelines of Royal Canin/Mars social media policy)

Key Responsibilities:


Collaborate with the sales team in the designated area to educate key influencers and enhance recommendations in significant accounts identified in major markets.

Utilize relationships with specialty referral hospitals to boost nutrition category sales in surrounding general practices.

Support national accounts through connections with regional medical leadership and participation in impactful events for the Royal Canin veterinary diet business.

Establish a network of KOL advocates for Royal Canin within the territory to be utilized by veterinary operations, marketing, corporate communications, and scientific communications.

Deliver top-tier training to veterinarians, technicians, and hospital personnel associated with key accounts in the territory.

Contribute to the growth of the veterinary business unit through collaboration and strategic planning with major market and regional sales teams.

Provide technical expertise and support as needed.
Represent Royal Canin at national and regional veterinary conferences when required.
Offer nutritional case consultations.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
