Job Summary

The Medical Assistant Supervisor provides clinical expertise and leadership for department members in coordinating staffing and work assignments. This role serves as a mentor by role modeling professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in development and management of par levels and expense budgets for equipment, supplies, and materials.
  • Oversees ongoing improvement in patient satisfaction.
  • Assumes a clerical or clinical (MA) assignment when staffing levels support the need for assistance.
  • Demonstrates, promotes, and rewards exemplary leadership skills and contributions of the staff toward the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Assists the Practice Manager to identify learning needs of the staff, i.e., arranging for departmental needs assessment, in-services, and other educational programs.
  • Coaches and provides immediate feedback to staff.
  • Assists Practice Manager with labor management of staff.
  • Trains, orients, and meets the new hires (including planning and orientation).
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of physician's office setting experience required.
  • Associates' Degree preferred.
  • Certified or registered through an approved organization as a Medical Assistant.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
