Job Summary

The Medical Physicist Assistant will work under the supervision of the Chief Physicist to provide entry-level professional medical physics services at the Department of Radiation Oncology. The successful candidate will evaluate and interpret medical radiation treatment prescriptions, collaborate with medical providers to design and modify effective radiation treatments, and oversee treatment plans developed by Dosimetrists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and interpret medical radiation treatment prescriptions
  • Collaborate with medical providers to design and modify effective radiation treatments
  • Oversee treatment plans developed by Dosimetrists
  • Participate in development and execution of equipment monitoring, quality assurance, calibration, and safety surveys
  • Provide technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy

Requirements

A Master's degree in Medical Physics or a similar field from a CAMPEP-accredited program is required. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in basic physics and relevant experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The Medical Physicist Assistant will work primarily on the first shift with assigned duties in the second shift as needed.
