Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and evaluate laboratory tests, including blood chemistry, hematology, and microbiology, to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and quality control, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collect and process patient specimens, including blood and tissue samples, in accordance with established protocols.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to laboratory staff, including phlebotomists and other medical professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory processes and patient care.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or related field.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) within 1 year of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
