Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Job Summary
Dartmouth Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. This role is part of a 4-semester training program that will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in a laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures.
- Identify and report sample, instrument, and procedural problems.
- Recognize critical test results and execute appropriate notification protocols.
- Attend online courses and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
- Develop proficiency in laboratory techniques and pass competency exams.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on various lab equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Identify and report safety issues.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and comfort in a hospital setting.
- Participate in laboratory improvement projects.
Qualifications
- College-level coursework in General Studies, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and Chemistry is required.
- Experience as a Laboratory Assistant or Phlebotomist is preferred.
- Eligibility for acceptance into an MLT Associate's Degree program is required.
Required Licensure/Certifications
At the end of the training period, candidates must take and pass the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) exam.
