Key Responsibilities

As an RN in our Medical/Surgical unit, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting comprehensive physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments of patients, considering age-specific criteria.
  • Developing tailored care plans by anticipating the needs of patients and their families, utilizing critical thinking skills.
  • Implementing and documenting nursing interventions based on thorough assessments and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Monitoring changes in patient conditions and promptly reporting findings to ensure optimal care.
  • Providing education and support to patients and families, ensuring they understand their care plans and treatment options.
  • Adhering to hospital policies and standards of nursing practice to maintain high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of one year of RN experience.
  • A current Texas nursing license or a compact state license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and NIH Stroke Scale certification.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Work Schedule

This position involves 12-hour shifts, with both day and night options available, along with weekend rotations.
