Job Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all construction projects at Northcentral Florida. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and be proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of on-going construction projects, including project budgets, vendor Purchase Orders, Change Orders, and project process forms.
  • Develop and maintain AutoCAD files for all campus buildings and site utilities.
  • Track all aspects of construction projects, including RFI logs, change order logs, daily progress reports, project budgets, project schedules, and warrantee limits.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental renovation projects, including scheduling and notifications.
  • Communicate and implement architectural/engineering standards for the college's construction projects.
  • Manage construction related minor projects on campus.
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure construction projects are completed in compliance with plans, construction processes, trade practices, and building and safety codes.
  • Prepare weekly reports and provide updates to the Architect and Director of Facilities.
  • Coordinate with field project supervisors during construction, prepare punch lists of closeout construction tasks, and coordinate efforts to ensure all items are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain an interface with permitting agencies for all active construction projects.
  • Responsible for various projects as necessary for Physical Plant, working in an integrated cross-over environment.
  • Develop NCF construction administration policy documents.
  • Develop and maintain project warranties for the various building components.
  • Responsible for product research, field surveys, coordinating meetings with vendors, subcontractors, utility companies, and interdepartmental groups.
  • Compile and maintain retrievable project files closeout documentation.
  • Develop and maintain MS Project schedule for each project.
  • Update campus space inventory based on newly developed CAD drawings.
  • Responsible for development of accurate drawings for each building, requiring field measurements of interior and exterior dimensions.
  • Responsible for New College's building space inventory database and facility record drawings and specifications and certifications for submission.
  • Responsible for maintaining an interface with State agencies to provide required annual space inventory reports, campus condition reports, and building assessment reports.
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or technical training in an appropriate specialization, documented formal training from an accredited institution in AutoCAD, with demonstrating intermediate proficiency.
  • Construction management experience preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD software and Microsoft Office products (MS Word and Excel).
  • Florida Contractor's License.
