About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team at Grede. As a Product Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of castings and tooling components to meet established launch and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop castings and tooling components using 3D modeling software (CREO) to meet quality and cost goals.
  • Complete simulation analysis to optimize designs and compile design-related items for APQP documents.
  • Assist in the cost estimating process and participate in the sampling and evaluations of tooling.
  • Follow up and assist in the resolution of production problems related to tooling and participate in Design Reviews, APQP Process, Continuous Improvement, and VA/VE projects.
  • Maintain CAD workstations (hardware & software) and maintain and control CAD models and blueprint data.
  • Support the 3D printer activities and manage tooling design standards.
  • Maintain open communications with employees and work with employees to mutually resolve problems to enhance morale and promote a union-free environment.
  • Maintain conformance with Company policies, work rules and regulations, coaching employees and/or initiating disciplinary actions, as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma plus apprenticeship or related associate degree, or equivalent.
  • Three to five years' experience in a related field.
  • Advanced technical level assignments of a diverse nature.
  • Administrative supervision of a secondary departmental function.
  • Ability to work with and access confidential data.
