Cabling Specialist - Project Lead

Location: Various Sites

REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience as a Cabling Specialist or Project Lead
Minimum of 2 years as a cable technician focusing on Cat 6 installations
Skilled in fiber fusion and Cat 6 terminations
Experience in cable pulling, testing, and patch panel setups
Familiarity with project management applications such as Fieldwire or similar
Competent in constructing rack and ladder systems
Expertise in structured cabling installations, terminations, and punch-down procedures
Ability to adhere to color coding and pin configurations
Experience with keystone jacks is essential

Essential Tools:
Ownership of basic telecom tools including punch down tools, wire cutters, and cordless drills
Capability to install support structures such as ladders, racks, and j-hooks
Strong multitasking abilities
Physical capability to lift equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
Industry-related certification for cable technicians is preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The ideal candidate will be adept at working on new construction projects
Tasks include pulling, installing, terminating, and testing CAT 6 and fiber optic cabling
Ability to wire keystone jacks
Preparation and installation of cable pathways and support systems
Assisting with reporting systems, primarily utilizing Fieldwire or similar applications to track project statuses
Providing expertise in CAT 6 pulling, testing, and patch panel tasks

Testing Equipment:
Utilization of testing equipment including tone generators, twisted pair checkers, butt sets, and cable scanners
Diagnosing and troubleshooting network connectivity issues and other low voltage cable problems
Inspecting and resolving cable equipment issues while establishing internet networks
Repairing and maintaining cable system infrastructure
Conducting routine maintenance on cable systems
