The City and County of San Francisco is seeking a highly qualified Deputy Director of Sexual Health and Wellness to join our team. As a key member of the Community Health Equity and Promotion branch, you will be responsible for managing community-based programs and services, training, and capacity building for the prevention and treatment of HIV, hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted infections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage community-based programs and services, including training and capacity building for the prevention and treatment of HIV, hepatitis C, and sexually transmitted infections.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage in community engagement and public education about sexual health.
- Lead the Sexual Health Section, which includes four units: wellness initiative for sexual health equity and safer use for people who use drugs, community-based sexual health services, equity and quality improvement, and community training and capacity building.
- Supervise staff in the Sexual Health section to produce program deliverables using clear work plans and performance measures.
- Apply for funding for staffing and program costs to grant authorities.
- Resolve matching funds for staffing and program costs for Sexual and Drug User Health section program budget.
- Write and manage Requests for Proposals and program contracts to implement Sexual Health programs and services.
- Report updates on status of grant deliverables to issuing agencies.
- Organize supportive health services for people who use drugs, including prevention and treatment.
- Oversee the assigned staff to ensure administrative and operational functioning of Health Access Points.
- Direct staff in the Sexual Health section to conduct targeted outreach campaigns to communities most impacted by HIV/HCV/STIs.
- Draft departmental and programmatic reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of professional experience in public health program development, public administration, and/or public health operations.
- Desirable qualifications include a Master's degree in relevant fields, two years of experience supervising public health professionals, and three years of experience managing sexual health and/or programs for people who use drugs public health programs.
Selection Process:
Candidates who qualify will be invited to participate in a Supplemental Questionnaire (SQ) Examination that is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities in job-related areas.
