We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Infusion Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Summit Health. As an Infusion Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of medication preparation and infusion services.
Key Responsibilities- Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy and suitability for compounding.
- Compound medications, chemotherapy, and biotherapy using proper aseptic technique.
- Assess the identity, strength, or purity of medications.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous drugs and waste materials.
- Perform mathematical calculations to determine appropriate drug measurements.
- Enter and remove medications into and from the Nucleus System.
- Conduct routine medication inventories and assist with inventory control.
- Assist in ordering supplies and medication, and receive and restock medications.
- Maintain QA logs, including cleaning logs, temperature logs, and waste logs.
- Participate in training and orientation of new employees.
- Comply with OSHA and Summit Health training and accomplishments.
- High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent Work
- Vocational/Technical School/Diploma Program
- New York Board of Pharmacy Technician registration
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with PTCB
- Minimum 2 years of hospital experience, including IV compounding
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
