Boeing is seeking a skilled Associate Structures Mechanic to join our team in San Antonio, TX. As a key member of our production and maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our aircraft structures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation of critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
- Locate and install new structural items to existing structures, ensuring precise alignment and fit.
- Seal, paint, shim, and preserve structures in accordance with standard repair processes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification and repair.
- Operate tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts.
- Use aircraft-specific tools, such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, and sheers.
- Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support mission requirements.
- 4+ years of experience working with non-porous metals, such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
- 4+ years of experience working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.
- 4+ years of experience using hand tools, such as drills, pancake adapters, countersink cages, hole finders, and rivet guns.
- 4+ years of experience working with heavy structures, including locating, drilling, countersinking, and fastening structures to aircraft.
- Experience with depot-level maintenance and repair of heavy structures.
- Experience working on or around executive fleet platforms.
- Ability to operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding-type electric-powered elevating equipment.
