The Boeing Company is seeking a skilled Structures Mechanic Lead to join our team in San Antonio, TX. As a key member of our production and maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our aircraft. With a focus on close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation of critical support structures and fracture critical areas, you will use your expertise to locate blind holes for new structural items installation, perform sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structure in accordance with standard repair processes, and read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs. Additionally, you will use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts, possess knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs, and basic electrical systems. You will also determine functionality of basic electrical systems, operate aircraft data via computer systems, and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests. Required skills and qualifications include 4+ years of experience working with non-porous metals, schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures, experience using structures hand tools, working with heavy structures, and ability to work variable shifts. Preferred qualifications include experience with Depot Level/Heavy Structures maintenance, Executive Fleet aircraft maintenance and operations, and operating a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment. This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility and is a regular, full-time position with a salary range of $71,760 to $34.50 per hour, with the possibility of additional pay for Airframe and Powerplant Certification and Special Program Access clearance. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option (San Antonio, TX) and will be required to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. The position is not contingent upon program award and is not a safety-sensitive position.
