Role Overview:

  • The Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and verifying the accuracy of the Fixed Assets Account.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures.
  • Calculate depreciation for fixed assets and accurately report it through journal entries.
  • Create asset tags for proper identification and tracking.
  • Update and maintain sales unit prices and the Tooling Inventory List as required.
  • Reclassify journal entries from the Progress Account to the Fixed Assets Account.
  • Oversee the management of asset discontinuations, transfers, disposals, and sales.
  • Prepare journal entries and reports, including Roll Forward and Capital Spending Plans.
  • Perform quarterly internal audits of samples and inventory.
  • Assist external auditors by providing necessary data and support.
  • Collaborate closely with other accounting staff to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed.
  • Contribute to the completion of monthly journal entry files and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct physical inventory assessments for fixed assets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Fixed Assets accounting is essential.
  • Experience in manufacturing Fixed Assets is required.
  • Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with journal entries.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • A solid foundation in general accounting practices is expected.
