Job Summary

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Department of Surgery at the Commonwealth of Virginia to study hemorrhagic shock and acute kidney injury. The successful applicant will conduct pre-clinical studies to test the effectiveness of new low volume IV resuscitation strategies targeting novel mechanisms of action. Key responsibilities include surgery, physiological experiments, data analysis, and publication of original manuscripts and grant applications.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in biomedical science
  • Animal research experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so
