Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Buehler, a division of Illinois Tool Works. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the conceptualization and development of new products, including material preparation and hardness machines, using both AC and DC power processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products that meet the changing needs of Buehler's internal and external customers.
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including circuit boards, power supplies, and control hardware, to ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Work with the design team to develop risk assessments and assist in developing solutions to mitigate risk.
  • Create test procedures, oversee testing, and analyze results to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, sourcing, and quality teams to design and qualify solutions for obsolete components.
  • Support the development of quality, manufacturing, and supplier inspection procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in designing circuit boards (layout + schematics).
  • Comprehensive understanding of designing and testing in compliance with regulatory and safety standards such as CE, UL, and IEEE.
  • Experience in analog + digital signal designs; experience in the use of microcontrollers is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in power circuitries, motor controls, and sensors.
  • Experience creating schematics with OrCAD or Altium.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
