Key Responsibilities:
The Safety and Security Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure atmosphere for all individuals within our facilities. This position involves:

  • Responding promptly to various security incidents, including disturbances involving patients or visitors, and addressing emergencies as they arise.
  • Conducting regular patrols of the premises, monitoring security systems, and dispatching personnel to areas requiring attention.
  • Being knowledgeable about emergency protocols, reporting any breaches of security, and conducting thorough investigations when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate logs of daily activities and preparing detailed reports on incidents, ensuring effective communication during emergencies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of six months of experience in a security role within a healthcare environment, or equivalent military or law enforcement background.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or three years of relevant experience in security.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to utilize de-escalation techniques.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Preferred: Completion of the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officers within 90 days.
