Position Summary:

The Senior Writer for Creative Content at NBC Entertainment plays a pivotal role within the writing team of the Creative Content group, contributing to our marketing strategies across various platforms. This position requires a seasoned writer who can embody the NBC voice and captivate both new and existing audiences with innovative ideas and refined writing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in meetings, approve creative concepts, and serve as the writing team's liaison in the absence of the Editorial Director.
  • Exhibit proficiency in diverse writing styles, including traditional marketing copy and conceptual promotional materials.
  • Act as the primary writer for assigned NBC shows, gaining in-depth knowledge of characters, storylines, and key moments.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions for assigned shows and contribute to collaborative idea generation.
  • Craft and refine written content that aligns with the NBC brand voice.
  • Proofread marketing materials and ensure meticulous attention to detail before final approval.
  • Collaborate with various teams to tailor writing for distinct audiences and platforms while adhering to established strategies.
  • Work closely with creative directors, producers, editors, and fellow writers to enhance content quality.
  • Stay informed about cultural, digital, and social trends to create relevant content and messaging.

  • Developing clever and strategic taglines for key art.
  • Creating clear and engaging show descriptions.
  • Writing on-brand scripts for original content promotions.
  • Conceptualizing social media scripts for behind-the-scenes content.
  • Crafting SEO-friendly and appealing show titles.
  • Producing engaging titles and descriptions for social media posts.
  • Generating compelling thumbnail copy for digital platforms.
Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in writing for entertainment or gaming companies, creative agencies, or in-house creative studios.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Strong sense of urgency regarding project timelines and assignments.
  • Exceptional proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to craft concise and impactful copy for both traditional and digital audiences.
  • Understanding of visual storytelling and fan-centric content creation.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to relate messaging to visual elements.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of writing styles and voices.
  • Independent problem-solver with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to navigate feedback and manage tight deadlines effectively.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Basic knowledge of digital video production and post-production processes.
  • A passion for television and storytelling.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office, Final Draft, Airtable, Veritone, Dropbox, Adobe Premiere, TikTok, and YouTube.

Additional Information:
Hybrid Work Model: This position is designated as hybrid, requiring in-office contributions a minimum of three days per week.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 (bonus eligible)
