Position Summary

The Cloud and Communications division is in search of a dedicated and experienced Principal Applications Engineer to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with the Advanced Technology and Systems group, focusing on pioneering solutions for power delivery in data centers. The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of innovative professionals, combining industry expertise with fresh academic insights to tackle emerging challenges in power delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovative Power Solutions: Identify and advocate for cutting-edge solutions addressing the evolving challenges in data center power delivery.
  • Customer Engagement: Collaborate with clients to grasp fundamental industry challenges and requirements.
  • Academic Collaboration: Partner with academic institutions to explore new architectures and methodologies.
  • Prototyping: Simulate and develop prototype concepts to validate innovative ideas.
  • Specification Development: Draft architecture specifications to guide design teams in their projects.

Product Development:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to create comprehensive product definitions.
  • Topology Proposals: Suggest power supply topologies and features that align with customer needs.

New Product Initiatives:

  • Architecture Verification: Validate power solutions through behavioral simulations.
  • Software Development: Define and develop software or firmware to interface with integrated circuits.
  • Evaluation Board Design: Create evaluation boards for both internal testing and customer assessments.
  • Benchmarking: Conduct product benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure market relevance.
  • Experimental Analysis: Perform experimental tests to identify potential issues and limitations.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree (MSEE) with at least 10 years of experience, or a PhD with a minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
